About Us

The Simmons Empowerment Foundation Inc. (TSEFI) was founded by Dr. Rhonda Simmons with a clear and unwavering mission: to support and empower unwed teen mothers as they build stable, independent futures.

In 2003, while in prayer, Dr. Simmons received a clear vision from God—to establish a home for unwed teen mothers. That moment marked the beginning of a calling that would take shape over the next two decades.

Committed to preparing for that assignment, she spent more than 15 years investing in both personal and professional growth—pursuing higher education, serving as a teacher and administrator in Title I schools, fostering children, and partnering with organizations that support vulnerable youth and families.

In 2020, that vision became reality with the founding of TSEFI.

Today, the foundation is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive home for unwed teen mothers while equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. Through pre- and post-natal health education, job skills training, and values-based coaching and support, TSEFI empowers young mothers to move from uncertainty to stability—and from survival to purpose.
